Thank you for being interested enough to learn more about me. Below are some of the typical questions I’ve gotten over the years. Also if you have anything you’d like to ask me directly please feel free to use the contact form. I try to answer every email within the same day.

My full name is Lewis Christopher Pennington. I go by my nickname Chris. Back in 2013 when I wrote my first book that’s what I used. However, someone else had the website domain name for Chris Pennington as well as Lewis Pennington. (how dare they!) Low and behold LewisPennington.com came available so I grabbed it and am now using Lewis for everything.

Not really. I’ll stare at a blank screen for long periods but eventually, I’ll tap something out and things start flowing. It might be a bunch of nothing but it’s still progress.

It’s just part of my DNA. I have to do it. Like breathing I can’t exist without it.

Because I enjoy it. In marketing, you have to use a lot of different skills which is something I enjoy. You have to have both the left and right sides of the brain firing to be effective.

I’m Christian. Non-denominational.

My ultimate goal is to entertain them with a unique storyline that takes them on a journey that inspires them. I want them to laugh, cry and feel like they can soar.

I’m still a part-time writer but am transitioning to full time over the next few years.

Great question! I was running a business and didn’t want to let my partner down taking time away from my commitment to him.  After I left the business I needed to retool my marketing skills and help provide a steady income for my family.

Absolutely. My wife is my biggest supporter and is always pushing me to write. I’m great – just ask her!

I started in middle school and have been writing ever since. I’ve written poems, short stories, novellas, and full-length novels.

I’m a plotter. If I don’t have a well thought out plot I feel lost and can’t write as fast. A plot also gives me a sense of security. It allows me to keep from drowning. I just have to write to the next plot element and I’m on dry land.

The shower, in the car, buying groceries, mowing the yard, from dreams – anywhere. I’d love to have a more definitive place then I would spend more time there.

I want to be emotionally drained during the writing of a book. If I’m not I know I haven’t accomplished my goal of reaching my readers. If I write a passage that is supposed to emote a specific response for my readers and I don’t feel it then I go back and rewrite it until I feel how I want them to feel.

I’m okay with it for the most part. The only time I would not be okay with it is if someone used vile language to express their opinion. So far I’ve never experienced that.
